Product Development
Acousta Australia has developed a suite of internationally-patented building products specifically designed to reduce both impact and air-borne noise transmission through floors, walls and ceilings.
The concept of the Acousta Floor Batten was first realised in 2001. The idea was ground-breaking and initial testing confirmed the Acousta Floor Batten dramatically increased the acoustic performance of solid timber flooring, both on timber joists or concrete slab.
Since then, the Acousta concept has been further developed and applied to many different types of floors, walls and ceilings, both for new constructions and retro-fitting of existing buildings. A large range of Acousta products is currently available, and manufactured at our factory in Silverdale. We have systems suitable for all types of dwellings eg. apartments, houses, offices, hotels and sporting facilities, and our flooring systems are even suitable for external areas such as balconies.
Each of our acoustic systems comply to the current BCA, and in fact, our noise control performance exceeds the requirements of all current building codes world-wide.
All of our systems are lightweight and compact, so actual floor area and ceiling height are maximised. They also have a high fire rating and have been fully tested in both field and laboratory tests by the CSIRO and Renzo Tonin and Associates Pty Ltd.
Acousta products are also eco-friendly. They are constructed from sustainable products including recycled rubber.
